Wendy Thomas was elected to the Placerville City Council in November 2010. In 2014, she was honored by Assemblyman Frank Bigelow as “Woman of the Year” for Assembly District 5. She is a proud member of Class XV of the American Leadership Forum, and is currently serving as a board member of the Marshall Medical Center.
Wendy was born in Placerville (at Marshall), is the proud mother of 2 grown daughters, and was a small business owner in town for over 24 years.
Wendy has degrees in both Business Administration and Fine Art from Principia College. Prior to her involvement in local government, she also enjoyed a career as a professional artist.
Wendy's roots to Placerville grow deep. Her family settled here in 1850, and after finding success in Placer mining, they became business owners in town. It is out of a sense of deep seated legacy that Wendy sought a seat on the City Council. Her goal is to restore the economic viability of Placerville, preserve and highlight our historical and natural resources while finding common ground on important issues.
