November 8, 2016 Consolidated Presidential Election

General Elections are held the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of even-numbered years, concurrent with the statewide election.  The City of Placerville holds a General Election for the purpose of electing City councilmembers.  A minority and majority election will alternate with every even-numbered year to elect either two (2) or three (3) councilmembers to each fill a four-year term.  Additionally, measures affecting Placerville may appear on the ballot.  The City consolidates its election with the El Dorado County Elections Department , which provides for voter registration, ballot materials, polling locations , and other critical elections functions.

The City of Placerville’s City Clerk’s Office is the receiving agency for nomination papers for City Council candidates. Potential candidates and citizens interested in more information about candidates are encouraged to contact the City Clerk at (530) 642-5531.
