The City’s Community Development Department consists of three Divisions: Planning; Building; and, Grant Administration. The Department has five fulltime professionals with a combined experience of over 70 years.
The Department’s responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining current the City’s General Plan and Housing Element
Conducting public hearings on land use proposals
Construction plan reviews
Issuance of building permits
Correcting Housing Code violations
Nuisance abatement
To seek and obtain grant funding from numerous Federal and State agencies for community programs
